With a formal education in both fine art and anatomy, Murcia's practice is, at its core, an exploration of the possibilities of being alive in this current moment - with the relationship between the physical and the metaphysical being a constant source of inspiration. His work explores notions of perception, the parallel worlds of the real and hyper-real, with a circular relationship to time that sees past, present, and future human and technological developments intertwined. Murcia studied Fine Arts at the University of La Laguna, Canary Islands. His work is held in collections in NZ and overseas and exhibited in private art events and art fairs in Europe and the US.
